Fees and Appointments
Consultations
Consultation is by appointment except in case of accidents and emergencies we do accept walk ins. Weekday appointments are made at 10 minutes intervals. If you require a longer consultation please notify the staff when making your appointment and to avoid unnecessary waiting, notify reception on arrival. Saturday morning clinics are for emergencies and those who have difficulty attending during the week. Simply call at 8.30am for on the day appointments. Held appointments can not be made for the Saturday clinic until on the day. Text message reminders are sent with patient authority at 9:00am the day before appointments as a courtesy reminder.
Here at the Chinchilla Medical Practice, our standard appointment is 10 minutes. If you have several things you wish to discuss with the doctor or you believe that the consult will exceed the 10 minutes, please notify the receptionists when making the booking, so a longer consult can be booked. This is extremely important to remember so we can keep the doctors running on time.
Fees and billing arrangements
Full payment is due at the time of consultation. Concession cardholders will receive a discount during normal hours but full payment is required for any after hours services or home visits. Bulk billing is not automatic except for routine childhood immunisation. Some other services, however, may be bulk-billed at the doctor’s discretion. Cheques and major credit cards are accepted. EFTPOS facilities are available. A list of fees for consultations is displayed in the reception area. If you have a problem paying your account please discuss this with us so a suitable arrangement can be made. We can claim your Medicare rebate through our TYRO Eftpos service, this is where your claim will be refunded into your bank account within 10 seconds.
Fees are charged, as directed by the doctor, based on the length and complexity of the consultation. Each doctor sets their own fee and fees differ for in and out of hour’s consultations.
Prescriptions
Only regular patients of Dr Clarke and Dr Gilmour, who have seen them within the last six months, can request a script.
Sufficient scripts will be given at the time of consultation until review of the condition is necessary. Replacements can be obtained for lost scripts but repeats will not be given automatically if you have not seen the doctor recently for the relevant condition. Please ensure, when possible, to give 24 hours notice. Certain medications will only be prescribed with consultation.
Chinchilla Medical Practice is registered with HPV and AIR – If you would like to opt out of this service and not receive reminders please notify reception.
